Dr. David Goodman
Dr. David is a board-certified chiropractor specializing in whole body mobility/movement, joint motion, injury rehabilitation, and pain management solutions. Dr. Goodman has a strong focus on stretching and flexibility, as well as ergonomics and injury prevention. Goodman Chiropractic also prides themselves on being a family practice with over 20 years of experience servicing Northeast Philadelphia and the surrounding areas near Burholme, Cheltenham, and Elkins Park. We also provide services for sports, automobile, rehabilitation, and workers injuries.
Dr. David is a board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic by the NBCE I-IV, as well as in Adjunctive Procedures (Physio-Therapy). He graduated from the outstanding Life Chiropractic University in Marietta, Georgia. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Temple University, where he also took his science pre-requisite courses for chiropractic school. While at Temple University, he was exposed to chiropractic and was amazed at how good his body felt energized. He realized this was his path to follow.
Moving back to Philadelphia in 1999, Dr. Goodman worked for another chiropractor inside of a local gym before opening his practice on Rising Sun Ave on April 30, 2001. Although he didn’t bulk up the way he intended at the gym, it led the way for opening his Rising Sun Ave practice. Still with him for close to 20 years, and friends since college, is Heather who is our billing specialist. Now joined by Cecille, his super spectacular wife at reception, we hope to help you with all your chiropractic needs.
Dr. David was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and graduated from George Washington High School. The road wasn’t easy growing up in a single parent household raised by his father and two older sisters after his mother passed away at 10 years old. He delved into the arts and has been playing drums, percussion, and guitar since 12 years old.
In addition to working as a full-time chiropractor, Dr. David pursues multiple different hobbies. He and his daughter Dylan have earned their first degree Blackbelts, TOGETHER, in Chinese-American Kempo. This was always a childhood dream which was realized in December of 2021. Dr. David also continues to play drums professionally and has been in bands which had opened for Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots) and been runners up in both the Hard Rock Calling contest and WMGK 102.9 House Band Competition. He’s also a competitive racquetball player, and exercises regularly…but eats regularly too. Dr. David also makes a strong attempt speaking Spanish and Portuguese, not fluent, but can converse with patients well enough that don’t speak English.
“I worked for a wedding hall (JFM Caterers/Regal Ballroom) from 1990-2003, and the owner Joe always made it a point to express the importance of that special day for the wedding couple. Although we’ve worked hundreds of weddings and may get ‘desensitized’, that day is their biggest day and it’s unparalleled in their life. I took that same philosophy to my practice. I want your chiropractic experience to be outstanding. Family, love, commitment, perseverance, and dedication are at the forefront of my life and practice.” -Dr. David
